Sheri graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and a certificate in General Music from Berklee College of Music. She released her first EP of all original music at 18 and spent years perfecting her songwriting, writing hundreds of songs per year until she was ready to record again. Since 2021, Sheri has released four new singles and this past June she just debuted her newest EP "Hometown" consisting of six solo-written songs about her experiences growing up in the small town of Pemberton and what it was like for her to leave home to chase her dream of becoming a country singer songwriter.

A true west-coast native, Sheri’s music is inspired by the beautiful mountain and ocean landscapes of the pacific northwest. She writes most of her songs outdoors and features nature themes in her work as much as possible.

Biography

Sheri Marie Ptolemy has always showed an interest in music; her mother would catch her singing to her dog and to the birds at her window when she was five years old. At the age of 11, she started voice lessons and began to teach herself piano and guitar. Immediately after she started composing her own songs which she performed at a local Home Church.

After convincing her Mom to bring her to Nashville to play the Legendary Blue Bird Cafe she decided she needed to go home and perfect her craft. She was homeschooled for a year and a half, so she could practice music as much as possible. In 2014 she recorded her first EP “Change Your Mind.”

Sheri studied Creative Writing and film at UBC and Music at Berklee College of Music so she could perfect her craft and learn who she was as an artist. Since graduating from both programs, Sheri has released four heart-felt singles, and filmed and edited her own music videos to accompany each song.

Sheri debuted her sophomore EP “Hometown” this June. Hometown is a collection of songs highlighting Sheri's journey of growing up in a town where she felt like an outsider and how she made a path for herself. It has themes of heartbreak, loss, aspiration and empowerment. Sheri is currently filming and editing music videos for each of the tracks. She is also touring around BC playing rodeos, festivals, arts events and more provincewide.
