Sheri is a multifaceted storyteller whose creativity shines through acting, filmmaking, and music. She discovered her passion for filmmaking during her senior year of high school when a photography class offered her the opportunity to study film at Vancouver Film School. This experience ignited a love for the filmmaking process, with a particular focus on directing.
Throughout her university career, Sheri continued to nurture her passion for film and theatre. During her final year at UBCO, she created a deeply personal documentary titled The First Time I Thought I Was Fat (TFTITIWF), which explored her journey with an eating disorder and body dysmorphia. The film resonated with audiences, winning the Audience Choice Award in her documentary class and screened at five different film festivals. Notably, TFTITIWF was a finalist at the Vancouver Independent Film Festival and a semi-finalist at the Calgary Independent Film Festival in 2021.
Sheri continues to develop her filmmaking craft by writing, directing, filming, and editing her own music videos, which reflect the natural beauty of her coastal mountain hometown, surrounded by lush forests, glacier lakes, and oceans. Through her music and videos, Sheri captures her unique perspective on the world, blending her passion for filmmaking with her love of music to create art that is deeply personal and visually striking.
